Ben's Allergy & Restaurant Reviews

Ben Alexander’s Eat of The Week (12/25-12/31)

January 1, 2024 by Ben

Monday 12/25:

Lunch (Brunch): Cinnamon Roll Casserole and Hash Browns!

Rationale: We always do brunch for Christmas and it didn’t disappoint once again as I made sure all the ingredients were friendly to my dairy allergy.

Snack: Popcorn

Rationale: My family and I were watching Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 and they made popcorn. Not bad at all!

Dinner: Pizza bread and brownies

Rationale: Whether it is Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner my family always makes pizza bread. Grab a loaf, pizza sauce & toppings, put it in the oven and you will have a good dinner that you can customize according to your allergies.

Tuesday 12/26:

Lunch: Leftover Cinnamon Roll Casserole, raisins, and ginger snaps

Rationale: Got to enjoy a great meal before I headed off to work. It was definitely a sweet meal and I love sweet meals.

Dinner: Arby’s: Chicken nuggets, Crinkle fries, and Apple Turnover

Rationale: I always enjoy Arby’s and their delicious food. Never ever disappoints. Plus Arby’s gives me a dairy-free dessert to which I have no complaints.

Wednesday 12/27:

Lunch: Skyline Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Rationale: It was a leftover night. My parents made this while I was working and I gotta eat the leftovers before I headed off to work again.

Dinner: Burger King: Bacon King and French Fries

Rationale: I really enjoyed a nice meal on my dinner break at work.

Thursday 12/28:

Lunch: Beef & Bean Burrito

Rationale: Another lunch on the go that is dairy-free.

Dinner: Healthy Choice Chicken Stir Fry meal, crispy crown potatoes, and hostess apple pie

Rationale: A cheap dairy-free meal that is healthy and not healthy at the same time. It was a pretty balanced meal in my definition of a  balanced meal. Some junk food, some healthy food.

Snack: Der Dutchman Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Rationale: Dairy-free dessert that I just couldn’t pass up.

Friday 12/29:

Lunch: Culver’s: Chicken Strips & fries, and some chocolate crinkle cookies.

Rationale: Culver’s is always good and the chocolate crinkle cookies make it much better.

Snack: IKEA Cinnamon Buns

Rationale: I was surprised to find IKEA cinnamon buns to be dairy-free and I really enjoyed them. I would highly recommend trying it.

Dinner: IKEA: Swedish meatballs, fries, jelly type of thing, and peas.

Rationale: I know IKEA is a furniture store (I had to get stuff for my room in my parent’s house), but it has good food as well and a restaurant inside a furniture store, I will do an allergy & restaurant review on it soon, so stay tuned and make sure you’re following/subscribing/watching/listening to all the platforms I’m on including this website.

Saturday 12/30:

Lunch: Beef & Bean Burritos and Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Rationale: I enjoy this meal, plus it is a quick lunch as well!

Dinner: Asian Cafe: Plate 1: Fried Rice, frog legs, sweet and sour chicken, green beans and potatoes. Plate 2: Jello and a fortune cookie

Rationale: A buffet that serves good food that doesn’t give me an allergic reaction, seems like a great deal to me!

Sunday 12/31

Breakfast: Strawberry Milkshake Pop Tarts

Rationale: A quick breakfast for the morning! I helped out at my local church.

Lunch: China Wok and Brownies

Rationale: I had similar food that I did last night at our local Chinese place. Sweet & Sour Chicken, Fried Rice, Beef & Broccoli. Plus I ate some of my Grandma’s brownies. As they say, you can’t complain about Grandma’s Cooking.

Dinner: Homemade pizza, potato chips, and Skinny Pop Hot Cocoa Popcorn.

Rationale: My Mom made a homemade pizza using Rhodes Rolls as the crust. It was pretty good as she tried making this type of pizza for the first time. I couldn’t complain, plus potato chips and Hot cocoa popcorn, it was very good.

Thanks for reading my content! Happy New Year and I hope you will all have a great 2024.
