I have had Moe’s Southwest Grill before, but it has been a while since I have last had it and it didn’t disappoint.
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I loved my tacos and the chips were pretty good too. I have no complaints about their food whatsoever.
Allergy Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: They have an allergen menu on their website and that’s a great sign! I had no allergic reactions today and I have never had any allergic reactions when eating at Moe’s Southwest Grill.
Do you like Moe’s?
Romeo’s Pizza: It Is Pretty Good!!!
Romeo’s Pizza has lots of locations around in the Central Ohio Area. I went to the one in Dublin. It was a very easy drive from my house and it was very nice!
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I enjoyed the pizza crust along with the topping. I threw some dairy-free cheese when I got home and I was really happy with their pizza!
Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I’m happy that they have an allergen menu, but I don’t see any allergen information about their wings. An update might be helpful, but there are still dairy-free options according to their website so I’m happy about that!
Checkers & Rally’s Is Pretty Good!
Checkers & Rally’s has been a very popular restaurant for a long time. Today I went to the one closest to me on Karl Road in Columbus. They do have dairy-free options here and that’s a good thing!
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: My food was amazing. I had wings and a apple pie. They were both so delicious. The fries do have dairy just to let you know but it didn’t matter because the apple pie and the wings were so good!
Allergy Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: They have an allergen menu that is easy to read. Plus I had no allergic reactions. There is nothing to complain about here.
Consider Me A Fan of Freddy’s
Freddy’s has a new location on Hilliard Rome Road in Columbus, Ohio. My Dad mentioned something about Freddy’s being in Columbus and I was shocked because I have never been to a Freddy’s Restaurant before. I’m so happy that Freddy’s is here in Columbus 😀
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I really enjoyed my bacon double steakburger. I asked for it plain and no cheese. I did get pickles, onions, and a little bit of mustard (luckily there was no cheese). I threw away the pickles and onions, but that didn’t matter because I loved the burger. There wasn’t much mustard so it wasn’t the end of the world. Also If you didn’t know already I’m not a condiment person and prefer to eat things without condiments (I know it’s not common for people to prefer things without condiments).
I really enjoyed the tater tots as well. My food was made to order and very fresh. I really thought the food was amazing and I really think this is a great place to get a fast food burger.
Allergy Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: Freddy’s has the best allergen menu I have ever seen. It was so easy to find food that was safe for me. If you Google Freddy’s Allergen Menu, it takes you to their website and you can view allergens so easy. They had a drop down button to view the nutrition and allergens of their food.
You can see what is dairy-free and what is not and it was really easy for me and I wasn’t stressed out eating here. I highly recommend you try Freddy’s.
Bojangle’s: A Dairy Free Surprise
Bojangle’s was pretty good! I had no idea there was one in Ohio until my Dad said there was one near the Menards on Hilliard-Rome Road. I was amazed there was a Bojangle’s in the state of Ohio. But I’m glad there is one.
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I got a grilled chicken sandwich. I didn’t realize it came with mayo, lettuce, pickles, & tomatoes. I took the pickles and tomatoes off.
I couldn’t do anything about the mayo, but the mayo wasn’t awful (even though I’m not a sauce or condiments guy) . Next time I order I’ll get it without mayo because I’m picky and don’t like sauces in my sandwiches.
That’s on me for not knowing what standard grilled chicken sandwiches come with! Lesson learned for next time. But they had amazing fries! The seasoning of the fries was awesome. They reminded me of potato wedges with seasoning. The seasoning was amazing.
Allergy Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: They have an allergen menu and I was also amazed with how fast my food was ready. I just put my coat at the booth I was sitting at and the next thing you know they’re giving me my order. That was amazingly quick service. I also have no complaints whatsoever when it comes to dealing with food allergies.
I will say that I was a little disappointed they didn’t have fried chicken (not the chicken tenders) somehow their fried chicken was dairy free and their chicken tenders aren’t dairy free. But this is probably a new location and they’re testing the waters and if it does well, I’m sure they’ll add fried chicken like the more popular Bojangle’s restaurants.
Overall, I thought my food was good and this was my first time going here and that was why I was confused with their menu and what they offered. The allergen menu showcases foods nationwide and I was thinking they had fried chicken, & that’s why I went with the grilled chicken sandwich. With familiarity I’ll enjoy this restaurant because it was so delicious & I highly recommend you try Bojangle’s.

Matt the Miller’s Tavern: A High End Restaurant
I tried Matt the Miller’s Tavern and I was very impressed. I saw this place on the internet and I wanted to try Matt the Miller’s. I finally tried it and it was delicious.
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: This food was so good that it had me thinking about it on the way back to my hometown of Marysville, Ohio. The burger was amazing 🤩 and the fries were awesome as well 😀 I got no complaints about the food at all.
Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: My waitress was excellent. She was honest with me and checked in the back to make sure my food was safe for me. When she brought my food she told me my meal was dairy-free and she made sure the kitchen knew about my allergy!
Whenever I called their phone number to place an order I was greeted by a virtual operator system. It would’ve been nice to be able to be greeted by a person so I could talk about my food allergies before coming, that didn’t matter as I went for lunch and ate at the restaurant! There were no allergic reactions and I was happy with everything.
I couldn’t find an allergen menu here so you need to ask the waitresses or waiters to see if the meal you want is safe from your allergies. The wait staff does a great job and they’re very trustworthy! I highly recommend you eat at Matt the Miller’s Tavern!
Smokey Bones: A Great Allergen Menu
I tried Smokey Bones today. I did a Red Robin Allergy & Restaurant Review Earlier this year and I saw this restaurant and said that’s one I need to try. Today I tried it and I’ll be honest the food was good!
Food Rating 4 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I ordered to go on their website and I tried to order boneless wings without sauce and I couldn’t. Basically I was forced to choose a sauce or a rub, which stinks because I’m not a sauce guy. I saw lots of spicy rubs and I don’t like spicy food and that wasn’t an option either.
Though I think the teriyaki sauce wasn’t bad, I would prefer that it was without sauce. Yes, I’m very picky! The fries were good, no complaints coming from me. I would’ve given this restaurant a 5 out of 5 stars if they had plain boneless wings as an option for online ordering. Though I will call next time I go and order to go through the phone.
Allergy Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: They had an easy to read allergen menu. I feel like the more I come here the more familiar I will be when it comes to ordering food, but at least I didn’t have an allergic reaction.
Have you eaten at a Smokey Bones?
Tubby’s Pizza: Cheap Pizza & Allergy-Friendly
I tried a place called Tubby’s Pizza. Tubby’s has three locations in Ohio and the price of the pizza was pretty affordable. My pizza was $12 for 4 toppings on a pizza! That’s really cheap and a great deal!
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I enjoyed all of the toppings on my pizza and I really did enjoy my pizza. I have no complaints about the food whatsoever.
Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: The Person taking my order on the phone was very helpful. He checked with someone else to make sure the pizza dough was safe. Turns out I had no allergic reaction 😀 The only thing I would say is to add an allergen menu on their website. It would be very helpful.
Don’t worry I can help with that! If you’re a restaurant owner looking to make more money by including people with allergies I got your solution.
You can email me at ben@bensallergyandrestaurantreviews.com to work with me and I’ll be happy to write an allergen menu for your restaurant.
Other than that, Tubby’s Pizza is definitely a recommended pizza place!
IHOP Allergy & Restaurant Review: Surprisingly Lots of Dairy-Free Options
IHOP has more than just breakfast. This was the first time I have ever eaten at an IHOP and I was really impressed with the service and how many dairy-free options IHOP offers.
Food Rating 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I was blown away with how hot their food was. It was made fresh and it was so delicious! The Fisherman’s Platter had Fried Shrimp, Fried Fish, & French Fries. I would definitely get it again 😀
Allergy Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: They use the Nutrition Nix Interactive menu to showcase what you can and can’t eat. Nutrition Nix makes it easy to tell what you can and can’t eat. There’s plenty of dairy-free options and you can find options for your allergies as well!
Overall, I would recommend you eat at IHOP.
Little Caesars: Really Good Pizza!!!
I have seen TV ads for Little Caesars for a long time now. I have always wanted to give this pizza place a try and today was the day. It’s a nationwide pizza chain in the good old USA 🇺🇸 so you should be able to find a location. Of course check on the internet to see if there’s a location near you!
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I enjoyed their crust and toppings. I really felt the quality of pizza was pretty good. No complaints about the pizza!
Allergy Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I’m happy that they do have an allergen menu where they clearly tell you the allergies, & it’s a great thing. But, ordering on the app was really confusing. I never indicated that I wanted cheese, but it came default so my pizza had cheese in it!
Luckily I checked my pizza in the parking lot and showed him my receipt and he told me that cheese was a default option. So that’s very frustrating especially with a dairy allergy. I waited longer than expected since they had to make another pizza, but I’m fine with waiting because it meant being safe from an allergic reaction. As a first timer you need to know that the pizza comes default with cheese.
