I have eaten at Penn Station East Coast Subs before. I have never had an allergic reaction eating here & I’m glad that I was able to enjoy my meal today without any allergic reactions.
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: I really enjoyed their fries. Those fries were the best part of the experience. Their fries do have peanut oil in it. Just want to make a quick disclaimer on that. I have consulted with my allergist and we decided that eating items fried in peanut oil were fine. I have had no problems to it even though I’m allergic to peanuts. Please consult with your allergist/doctor before consuming these fries.
I loved the white bread. The steak was fine, & I really enjoyed the pizza sauce on the sub. That was a nice touch to the sub.
Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars
Rationale: There is some stuff on Google but it wasn’t as detailed as it could be. They do have allergen statements on their website stating the bread is dairy-free. I will give Penn Station credit and they have some semblance of an allergen menu. It’s better than no allergen menu. What’s missing? I was able to see three sub types having allergen information on Google. Why isn’t there more on the other sub types?
I still think Penn Station East Coast Subs is a great place to go. Be aware of cross contamination. I thought Penn Station was good about Cross Contamination from tonight’s experience.
