Ben's Allergy & Restaurant Reviews

Benny’s Pizza: A Place that has Really Improved since the Last Time I was There

June 1, 2024 by Ben

I haven’t had Benny’s Pizza in years. I just recently went with my friends from Church and I was generally impressed. The last time I had it, I had an allergic reaction to ribs and fries. I know, right! Ribs and Fries? This happened when I was a kid and don’t necessarily remember all the details.

Food Rating 5 out of 5 Stars

Rationale: The wings were excellent. I got the bone in wings and the boneless wings. Both were really good and I genuinely enjoyed eating both of them.

Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Rationale: If it were last week I would’ve not given this restaurant high remarks, but things have luckily changed for me. Everyone was so friendly and answered all my questions. I called ahead and confirmed with my waiter to make sure everything was dairy-free. The only thing I would change is getting an allergy menu on their website. If your associated with Benny’s let me know and I can write one for you. DM me on Instagram or email me at ben@bensallergyandrestaurantreviews.com or comment down below on YouTube or wherever Podcast app you are listening to. I would love to help you improve even more.

Overall, I recommend eating here. Make sure you communicate with your waiter/waitress and tell them about your allergy.

LaRosa’s Family Pizzeria: A Very Allergy-friendly Restaurant

May 13, 2024 by Ben

LaRosa’s Allergen Menu: https://www.larosas.com/pdf/IngredientListing.pdf?v=2023.07.20

I’ll be honest, I had no idea on what to expect from LaRosa’s. It has been in the Dublin, Ohio area for years. I have wanted to go for years and it is 15 minutes away from my house, and I was in the area getting a haircut/beard trim, so I decided to go and try it.

Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Rationale: I got myself a pan pepperoni pizza. Guess, what there was Vegan (Dairy-free) Cheese as well. As a person with a dairy allergy this is awesome news. The smell of the food was so good and it tasted good as well. This is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. It felt like I actually ate pizza like a person who wasn’t allergic to dairy, which is why this meal was special.

Allergy Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Rationale: The guy taking my order was super cautious of my allergy. He knew what cross-contimation was. He made sure the utensils didn’t touch dairy. I’m 100 percent sure this restaurant would do the same for you. This Restaurant had Vegan Cheese. I legitimately felt like I was eating pizza at pizza place. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.

Overall, this is a must try pizza restaurant if you have this in your area. There are plenty of options for people with allergies. If you don’t have allergies this is still a must-try pizza place. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth.

Uncle Beth’s BBQ: A Hidden Gem of a BBQ joint

May 6, 2024 by Ben

What makes Uncle Beth’s such a Hidden Gem? It is because they have wonderful service and they have really good food. It’s always homemade and you certainly won’t be disappointed eating here. It is open Thursday-Saturday from 11:30AM -7:30PM (you need to plan accordingly). It is always packed and everyone there seems happy to eat there. The place is in North Lewisburg, Ohio (a very small town) and it is a 15-25 minute drive from my house to the BBQ Joint.

Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Rationale: Brisket, BBQ Pork, Pork Potato, Nachos, spiced apples, & green beans are very good. If I’m lucky I ask the owner if the cakes are dairy-free and if it is dairy-free I get a slice of cake. I have never eaten a bad meal here.

Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Rationale: They don’t have an allergen menu, but I would be more than happy to write one for this place. You can ask the owner and she is very knowledgable about all the dishes she makes. The menu with the cakes changes, plus they’re always adding to their menu so asking her and the staff would be very important.

Overall, I believe this is a wonderful place to eat and if you’re ever in this area this has to be your first stop. When my family is around there it definitely is for them.

Six Hundred Downtown Pizza Allergy & Restaurant Review

March 27, 2024 by Ben

I came to Six Hundred Downtown Pizza for the first time with my Church group after we went tubing at Mad River Mountain. Six Hundred Downtown Pizza is a pizza place in Bellefontaine, Ohio. It doesn’t have an allergen menu but you can call the restaurant and ask the waiter/waitress & they’ll help you out.

Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Rationale: I got the Italian crust with sausage, chicken, bacon, mushrooms & green peppers. The pizza was hot & fresh & it is one of the best Pizzas I’ve ever eaten.

Allergy Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Rationale: They were very helpful & didn’t have an allergic reaction. The menu was confusing as well. I called them the night before I came and ate here and said the Italian crust is dairy-free, but the menu said it was made out of mozzarella. I was extremely confused & clarified my confusion to them & they did an excellent job of understanding my question.

I definitely would eat here again & if you have food allergies I would recommend you going to Six Hundred Downtown Pizza in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Pizza Factory Allergy & Restaurant Review

March 27, 2024 by Ben

I went to the Pizza Factory in Dayton, Ohio. I was celebrating my friend’s birthday and I went to the Air Force Museum that is in Dayton. He wanted to go to the Pizza Factory in downtown Dayton.

Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Rationale: This was fresh fresh pizza. I got the all meats pizza. It had pepperoni, ham, ground beef, sausage, and bacon. The crust was incredible. It made my day. This is one of the best pizza I’ve ever had. I ate the whole thing. All my friends loved it too, so it was really good and I highly recommend it if you want a good pizza place.

Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Rationale: I went and ordered it and the guy put my dairy allergy in the computer and let the kitchen staff know. The only thing I would say is that they don’t allergen menu. I help small businesses write allergen menus. If you own Pizza Factory you can email me at ben@bensallergyandrestaurantreviews.com. You can also DM me on Instagram as well. Just search Ben’s Allergy and Restaurant Reviews. My IG handle is bensallergyrestaurantreviews. I do like your restaurant and has really good pizza. It’s easy to communicate your allergies to them and I called ahead to make sure I can eat here with my allergies. I highly recommend you try Pizza Factory in Downtown Dayton.

Ben Alexander Eats of the Month February 2024

March 9, 2024 by Ben

February 2024

Welcome to Ben Alexander’s Eats of the Month. I’m going to share my favorite dishes I ate this month! I will explain why I chose them and how they can be allergy-friendly for you!

Food #1: Der Dutchman Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Rationale: These cookies are so good. I would say this has to be a top-10 cookie of all time. Der Dutchman is an Amish Kitchen in Ohio and has a location in Florida as well. I have one close to Marysville, Ohio located in nearby Plain City, Ohio. If you have a chance to eat at this restaurant I would definitely give this restaurant a chance.

Food #2: Farm Rich Mozzerella Sticks

Rationale: Farm Rich Plant-Based Mozzerella Sticks are really good. I found these at my local Walmart. I have never had a mozzarella stick in my life until I filmed it for you. You can find the video on my YouTube Channel on my Shorts page, Instagram, & Tik Tok. I’ll tell you what I loved it and I ate the whole box.

Food #3: Bowlero Bowling Alley Food

Rationale: I had these on the same day as my Mozzerella sticks. The hummus, salsa, pita bread, and chips were good. I had no meat that day, & I don’t remember the last time I didn’t have meat to eat. It did make me appreciate the fact meat is so important to me, and sometimes you need to take a break to realize how awesome meat is.

Food #4: Skyline Chili: Chili Dogs, Fries, & Crackers

Rationale: I have always had Skyline Chili since I was a kid. I really enjoy the food. Skyline did change their cracker recipe to have dairy in it before & I would always check on their website or read the skyline crackers ingredients on the packages before you eat them. This goes with any of the food, but I’ll put a link in the description so you can read find out whether it is safe for you. If you’re not sure ask the cooks or servers before you order.

Food #5: Dominos Wings

Rationale: I love Dominos and their wings are really good. The Bone-in wings are always juicy and fresh. I don’t order any sauce & the Boneless wings are really good too without sauce. Both the Boneless & Bone-in are dairy-free. According to Domino’s Allergen Menu their Boneless Wings have Wheat in them and their bone-in wings have no allergens listed. Always check and make sure they don’t have your allergens. Go and Google search Domino’s allergen menu & go to the one on their official website. I will also put the link in the description for Domino’s allergen menu as well. Also, if you’re not sure go ahead and ask the cooks or cashiers to make sure your food is allergy-friendly.
