I had the Yummy Brand Dino Chicken Nuggets. This was my first attempt at trying dino chicken nuggets. It was really good and it doesn’t matter whether it is circle shaped or dino shaped, chicken nuggets can still be good. In my video below I try these for the first time and give my full review on them.
Grocery Item Review: Made Good Oat Bites
I never had these Made Good Oat Bites until I found them at Walmart. I thought to myself that this would make a really good allergy analysis. It is vegan and is made with lots of vegetables. The video below details my first time ever trying them and how I felt when I ate them!
Eat N Park: Is it Good?
Eat N Park Allergen Information: http://blog.eatnpark.com/2009/10/smiley-cookie-ingredients-and-allergens.html?m=0
Eat N Park is a place that is found in eastern Ohio, West Virginia, & Pennsylvania. My Mom’s side of the family is from Pennsylvania and I see this restaurant on the way to PA. I want to go there because there are so few of them that I would like to eat their food.
Food Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I enjoy their food, not to the degree of other restaurants but I have thought of their food to be enjoyable to eat and I would definitely eat there again. I have had grilled chicken and toast on one occasion and the other I had breakfast foods like sausage and hashbrowns. I haven’t had it in a while so I might not have the best memory of what the food is today.
Allergy Rating: 1 out of 5 stars
Rationale: They seem to want to hide their ingredients and not post an allergen menu. There is an email in the link above (or in the description wherever you’re finding this Allergy & Restaurant review) their customers have been asking about their smiley faced cookies. They have an email where you can find the answers to your allergen questions. You can call them or go in the restaurant and ask them yourself. I haven’t had any allergic reactions so that is good. I wish that they would have an allergen menu revealing the allergens, not the ingredients. I would be more than willing to write Eat N Park an allergen menu with the allergen and not the ingredients. If you are apart of Eat N Park in some way or matter email me at benallergyandrestaurantreviews@gmail.com or DM me on my socials (links will be in the description or on my website bensallergyandrestaurantreviews.com on the socials tab) I want to do my part to help restaurants take care of customers with allergies easier. That will save the email team from having to answer those questions. Plus having an allergen menu gives people with food allergies like me the confidence to eat there. If there was an allergen menu I would give this place more stars. Overall I would still recommend eating here because it doesn’t give you any allergic reactions and the food is good.

Swenson’s Drive-In: Does it do well with Allergies?
Swenson’s Drive-In Allergen Menu: https://swensonsdriveins.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/swenson-menu-alergen-20230216.pdf
I remember eating Swenson’s in College! I went to Mount Vernon Nazarene University and graduated there in May 2023 and I remember this food truck being packed! I found an allergen menu on their website and it was extremely helpful! I was thankful to find an allergen menu and eat their because while I was waiting in line our president gave us vouchers to eat at Swenson’s I wasn’t going to go but one of the professors said that he would save my spot and I got the free voucher, so I got free food and I was pretty happy.
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I was happy to not eat the same thing over and over again at the college cafeteria. It gets old after eating it for a while, it just naturally happens! So I was excited that this food truck came and I got to eat chicken nuggets and fries, since the burgers and hot dogs had dairy in it. I enjoyed my food!
Allergy Rating of Restaurant: 2 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I do appreciate them labeling stuff on their website and separating out on ingredients, but the hamburgers, hot dogs having dairy in it with or without the buns. The sloppy joe even had dairy in it, which I never even knew a sloppy joe could contain dairy (the bun might) . There is a possibility of a bunless sloppy joe having dairy in it, very surprising. Be careful of what you eat here, but I feel like it is safe to eat here and I never had an allergic reaction to eating my food. I would recommend eating here if you can find an option that is free of your allergen!
Raising Cane’s: Not What You Think it is!
Raising Cane’s Allergen Menu: https://www.raisingcanes.com/allergens/
Rationale about Raising Cane’s: 0 out of 5 stars
This restaurant has nothing for me to eat. The only thing I might be able to eat is coleslaw but that has egg in it. I am somewhat allergic to eggs where I can only eat eggs if they are baked into something like a cake. Scrambled eggs can give me an allergic reaction if I eat too much of it, so I try to avoid it! The Chicken tenders and fries have dairy in it. Literally the only thing I can get is a drink or a pack of Cane’s sauce! That is it! If I can’t eat your food I can’t give you a star, because it wouldn’t make much sense, but I do respect that Raising Cane’s did put an allergen menu, that is the only thing I will say good about Raising Cane’s. I wish they would have something more like grilled chicken that is dairy-free because I have heard that this place is really good but my family normally avoids it because they know I can’t eat there. This is not a place I would recommend if you have food allergies. Find different places they’re out there.
City BBQ: Awesome Place for BBQ!!!
City BBQ Allergen Menu:https://www.citybbq.com/sites/default/files/2023-06/Allergen%20Sheet%206.2.23.pdf
I have eaten at City BBQ since I was a kid, and have always enjoyed eating there. There is one 15 minutes away and my Dad or Mom gets it and brings it to the house when they’re in the area because they love it too! I love BBQ and I really enjoy eating BBQ and this is my first allergy & restaurant review of a BBQ place and I’m excited to review City BBQ!
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I love eating their ribs, brisket, pulled pork, fries, and I’ll eat their green beans as well. The fries have to be the highlight. The fries might be at the top of the list. Get that with ribs, brisket or pulled pork, you have a really good meal coming your way! I would highly recommend it if you like BBQ!
Allergy Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I have never had an allergic reaction, plus they have an allergen menu. BBQ tends to be very friendly for people like me who are allergic to dairy because meat doesn’t have dairy. Plenty of choices for me to eat. Don’t eat the pulled chicken or the smoked sausage that has dairy in it. Minus those two the menu is pretty wide open, fries and green beans for sides give you two options every time you eat at City BBQ. I would highly recommend eating at City BBQ for anyone who has food allergies and looking for good food. City BBQ is your answer!
Rooster’s: Really Good Food!
Rooster’s Allergen Menu: https://d651b0bc45559e9eaafa-f4d239947d449bf5c8da6abd73db9e1f.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/Menu-Allergens-June-2023.pdf
Rooster’s is a restaurant chain that is popular in the Central Ohio area. There are lots of Rooster’s locations and there is a Rooster’s in my hometown of Marysville, Ohio that I enjoy a lot and eat at often.
Grilled Chicken Tenders
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I enjoyed this for a while as that was the only entree that I knew to be dairy-free. It was fresh and juicy and I really enjoyed eating it!
Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Rationale: Vegans and vegetarians wouldn’t want to eat this! The grilled fingers do have corn as an allergy but the cajun fingers don’t. If you have a corn allergy order the cajun fingers.
Big Bob’s Burgers
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I get these burgers everytime and every time I enjoy these delicious delicacies!
Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Rationale: If you are allergic to gluten, order it without the bun and ask to see because the website has the burgers without the bun and I’m sure they have added toppings that might have gluten in it. The Big Bob’s Burger without the bun contains wheat, but I would ask, I couldn’t even imagine a piece of meat having gluten, but there are things that I wouldn’t think have gluten in it but do. Like People think of dairy. I have to explain to people that this food actually does or doesn’t have dairy and people are shocked when they hear the truth.
Curly Fries/Tater Tots
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I normally get the Tater Tots and I enjoy eating them! I have had the curly fries and also enjoyed them as well! Can’t go wrong with either of these side dishes.
Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Rationale: Tater Tots contain soy, while the curly fries contain Wheat (Gluten) and Soy. Vegans and Vegetarians should have no problem eating these delicious delicacies.
Traditional Wings
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: The traditional bone-in wings are really good. They are hot and fresh and I really enjoyed them. I also had leftovers because the wings are huge. I ordered 10 thinking they were small but I only ate 5 and saved the leftovers and had cold chicken. I’m a fan of cold chicken by the way, and I really enjoyed it both times I had it.
Allergy Rating: 4 out of 5 stars: It contains Wheat (Gluten) and soy. Vegans and Vegetarians probably wouldn’t want to eat the wings!
Allergy Rating of Restaurant: 4 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I remember when they didn’t have an allergen menu and we were dependent on the waiters/waitresses to make sure my food didn’t have dairy in it. I used to be able to eat the fried mushrooms but they put dairy in the fried mushrooms so that is not an option for me anymore. I’m glad they have an allergy menu for people like me. I have eaten here for years and haven’t had an allergic reaction. I’ve communicated with the waiters/waitresses and it has made the difference for me not to have an allergic reaction. I would highly recommend eating at this establishment because they take food allergies very seriously, plus they have really good food.
Buc-ee’s: Limited Menu, but luckily it’s a Convenience Store!
*Read the Ingredients of the item. It is like a grocery store! No Allergen Menu!
I went to Buc-ee’s on my way down and back from a trip to Atlanta, Georgia with my college. I did buy a Buc-ee’s shirt. Buc-ee’s are common in the South like Texas, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, & Tennessee. It is so crowded there it is crazy! I stopped at a Buc-ee’s two hours away from Atlanta and it was pretty cool to see the store and how nice it is kept clean (seriously the bathrooms were really clean). It is a great place to get gas and stretch after sitting on a bus for hours on end.
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I love the Buc-ee’s Beaver Chips. They were like a fried potato chip. I thought they were amazing and I really enjoyed the fact they had them at the location. Those were the closest things to Buffalo Wild Wings Buffalo Chips that they used to sell. If you view or listen to my Buffalo Wild Wings Allergy & Restaurant Review I talk about how much I miss the Buffalo Chips. Unfortunately there isn’t a Buc-ee’s close to me at all. I have heard rumors that a Buc-ee’s is opening in Huber Heights, Ohio which is an hour or two away from my hometown of Marysville, Ohio. Overall, I would eat the Beaver Chips again. The food is not like gas station food that is stereotyped for being bad.
Article for Buc-ee’s moving to Ohio: https://www.wlwt.com/article/buc-ee-s-ohio-huber-heights-opening-plans/45121085#
Allergy Rating of Restaurant: 2 out of 5 stars
Rationale: I was trying to order BBQ (Brisket or pork), but it had dairy in it, which I’m sitting here like I’ve never seen dairy in Pulled Pork or Brisket and I’m allergic to dairy so that doesn’t work at all. Luckily they do have things labeled and really that is the allergen menu. It is exactly like looking at labels at a grocery store like Walmart or Kroger. It is pretty good at labeling and as much as the hot food doesn’t have very many options for me I was glad that Buc-ee’s didn’t hide anything for me, plus it is like a grocery store and you can find items because that store is huge! Overall I would recommend going to Buc-ee’s but it is extremely busy, but it is worth the wait because it is a clean establishment.
Sheetz: Not Your Normal Gas Station Food!
Sheetz Allergen Menu: https://m.nutritionix.com/sheetz/menu/special-diets/premium
I remember going to Sheetz in Pennsylvania and they are everywhere over there and have now started to move into Ohio. My hometown of Marysville, Ohio just got a Sheetz just this past year. I enjoy that it is a convenience store and a restaurant inside of it.
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: When I first took a bite out of the chicken stripz I was really surprised with the results. My food was hot and fresh! I’ve heard from friends that Sheetz had really good food and I can’t disagree with them! I’ve only had their chicken stripz & fryz, they also have curly fryz that are really good as well. The food is good and it is not like gas station food that is stereotyped to be not good. It is worth a try!
Allergy Rating of Restaurant: 5 out of 5 stars
Rationale: Communicate your allergies by telling them your allergies at the cash register or the person cooking your food. Sheetz luckily does have multiple ordering options as well and you can type it in and that will hopefully make sure you have full control on what is being ordered. Sheetz has kiosks to order food there. You can also order on the Sheetz app, most of the time I order off the Sheetz app because it is more convenient so you don’t have to do that while in a busy convenience store. You’re more than welcome to order off the kiosk though your food might be fresher if you do that, whether you’re looking for speed or convenience Sheetz does a great job of giving you plenty of options. I like ordering off the app also because I can go and pay at the cash register and tell them the name of my order and they get it to me pretty quick. I don’t have to waste time doing that, plus I have only an hour lunch break and I don’t want to wait long because I have a limited time frame. Overall, Sheetz has does a great job handling allergies and having the allergy menu wizard and I’ve never had an allergic reaction at Sheetz during the short time it has been in Marysville.
Ben Alexander’s Eats of The Week 12/4-12/10
Monday 12/4:
Lunch: 4 slices of Marco’s Pizza
Rationale: Sausage, green peppers, and mushrooms are all dairy-free. The crust is dairy-free and I ordered the pizza without cheese, & added some dairy-free cheese to my pizza.
Dinner: Pork Roast, mixed vegetables, and snowmen & Christmas tree gummies
Rationale: Pork Roast is dairy-free, the mixed vegetables don’t have butter in them, and the snowmen & Christmas tree gummies are really good!
Tuesday 12/5:
Lunch: Pork Roast, Raisins, and snowmen & Christmas tree gummies
Rationale: I was looking for a quick lunch to eat instead of heating up mixed vegetables. I took raisins instead.
Dinner: Asian Cafe, It is a Chinese (Asian) buffet or carryout place.
Rationale: I ate at the buffet and I had lots of good food. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was dairy-free and it has been a staple for me since I was a kid. Fried Rice has no eggs in it and that makes me happy because I am allergic to predominantly egg products. Green beans and potatoes don’t have butter in it and the frog legs are dairy-free. Frog legs taste like chicken, they’re really good. The fortune cookies are dairy-free as well and only contain soy and wheat. I like to top it off with a dessert and that is Jello. It is dairy-free and I enjoy Asian Cafe’s Jello.
Wednesday 12/6:
Lunch: Pork Roast, Raisins, and snowmen & Christmas tree gummies.
Rationale: I like eating leftovers and I know I ate the same thing, but my parents made a really good pork roast and I didn’t want to waste it!
Dinner: Culver’s!
Rationale: I really enjoy the chicken tenders and fries like I explained in my Culver’s allergy & restaurant review. I put the allergy & restaurant review on my Tik Tok, website, podcasts, YouTube, Instagram, & Facebook. Just search Culver’s and you should find it! As I explained, I love how fresh and juicy the chicken tenders are. They don’t have dairy in it and finding dairy-free chicken tenders is challenging because everyone wants to use buttermilk. Culver’s proves that you can have dairy-free chicken tenders and don’t need to put buttermilk in them. The fries are really hot too. They’re crinkle cut and fresh off the fryer. I have never eaten a lukewarm or cold meal at Culver’s, making Culver’s a really good restaurant!!!
Thursday 12/7:
Lunch: Dino chicken nuggets, raisins, and Grandma’s pumpkin bread!
Rationale: Dino chicken nuggets are really good and though it may be childish, I can’t complain. If it is a dino or a circle I don’t care about the shape unless it’s good and I like the Yummy Brand Dino chicken nuggets. Raisins are a quick fruit and a go-to for me so I can eat my fruits and vegetables for the day. Grandma’s pumpkin bread is really good! She has made it for me for a very long time without any allergy concerns, thanks Grandma!!!
Dinner: McDonalds!!!
Rationale: I had the Chicken McNuggets! They are fresh and hot coming out of the fryer and I really enjoyed eating them last night. Plus they don’t have dairy and I have heard that McDonald’s uses separate fryers for their McNuggets and that is a really good feeling to have. Because you know for a fact that it won’t be cross contiminated. Before you eat the McNuggets make sure it is safe for you to eat by telling the person taking your order of your allergies and doing your research to make sure you’re safe eating it. From personal experience I haven’t had any allergic reactions to the McNuggets and a go-to for me when I go to McDonald’s. I also had an apple pie. Finding a dairy-free dessert can be challenging and luckily McDonald’s has an apple pie that is dairy-free and it is a must-have when I go to McDonald’s.
Snack: Buffalo Wild Wings
Rationale: I enjoyed a late night snack (or a full-sized meal because I had 18 boneless wings) with some friends of mine and I really enjoyed Buffalo Wild Wings boneless wings and truly it is
a favorite of mine for a long time.
Friday 12/8:
Lunch: Leftover Wings from Buffalo Wild Wings and some of Grandma’s pumpkin bread!
Rationale: I was looking for a quick meal and this was the best I could do! I can’t complain about Bdubs wings and Grandma’s Pumpkin bread! The Lunch of Champions!!!!
Dinner: Homemade Pizza! I also had salad & grandma’s pumpkin bread
Rationale: homemade pizza is a wonderful way to avoid allergic reactions and it gives you a very quick meal to make.
Saturday 12/9:
Lunch: leftover homemade pizza, peaches and a pack of strawberry Poptarts
Rationale: Homemade pizza is an easy leftover meal where you can enjoy seconds the next day!
Dinner: Sheetz: Chicken Strips, fries, and a Boston crème pie
Rationale: you might be surprised to find that the Boston crème pie is dairy-free but it is. JJ’s bakery has lots of delicious dairy-free pies. With Sheetz you can’t do anything wrong with the chicken strips or fries. I’ll take them any day of the week.
Sunday 12/10:
Lunch: Tres Potrillos. I had chips & salsa, plus carnita fries.
Rationale: This restaurant gives me lots of choices when it comes to dairy-free food.
Dinner: Pizza Crescent rolls, peaches, and Grandma’s zucchini and pineapple bread
Rationale: Easy to make and easy to enjoy pizza crescent rolls are really good and allergy friendly. Put your toppings and dairy-free cheese and enjoy!
